NATALIA KEPESZ – NIEWYBUCH

"Niewybuch" illustrates the world of military camps and uniform classes, which have increased considerably in Poland in recent years. In addition to being taught military basics, the children and young people who attend are indoctrinated with playful obedience and patriotism. Between fake blood, drills and the carefree handling of weapons, the tension between the childlike search for adventure and the excesses of the Polish military cult is illuminated and portrayed.

Polish photographer Natalia Kepesz lives and works in Berlin. After studying cultural studies and art history at the Humboldt University in Berlin, she studied photography at the Ostkreuzschule Berlin. Kepesz placed third in World Press Photo 2021, and she also won the "gute aussichten 2021/22" award, among others. Her work has been exhibited internationally.
