MAX PINCKERS

Max Pinckers, born in Brussels, Belgium, grew up in Indonesia, India, Australia and Singapore. He returned to Belgium in 2007 to study photography at the Ghent University of the Arts, where he obtained a BA, MA and PhD in the Arts in 2021. In his work, he explores the critical, technological and ideological structures surrounding the production and consumption of documentary footage. For him, documentary is more than just the representation of an external reality: it is a speculative process that approaches reality and truth as plural, malleable concepts. He is represented by Galerie Sofie Van de Velde in Antwerp and Tristan Lund in London.
