The exhibition #NEXT brings together six artistic positions that deal with the urgent socio-ecological issues and challenges of the present and near future. Through artistic-scientific methods, the artists examine our relationship to nature, reflect on the disappearance and preservation of life, and sharpen our awareness of more sustainable ways of living. Concurrently, these explorations ruminate on the future of the photographic image and its material production.
Participating artists: Suzette Bousema (The Netherlands), Alex Grein (Germany), Léa Habourdin (France), Fabian Hesse & Mitra Wakil (Germany), Takashi Homma (Japan), Shane Hynan (Ireland)
The exhibition #NEXT will be shown at Barkenhoff (Heinrich-Vogeler-Museum) from 18 March to 11 June 2023 and is jointly curated by Daria Bona and Cale Garrido.
